1921- She was born on February 4 in Peoria, IL.
1942- She graduated with her bachelors degree in psychology from Smith College.
1963- She published her first book called, "The Feminine Mystique" when she felt like she could be more than a stay at home mom. She had surveyed the students at her college and their answers inspired her book.
She encourages women to seek out new goals and opportunities for themselves, and she also destroys myths about all women wanting to be the happy stereotypical homemakers.
1966- She co-founded the National Organization for Women, and was chosen to be the first president. She started fighting for women to have roles in politics.
